Boston Bruins Monday Morning Prospect Update Week Ending: March 9, 2025

Casper Nassen

Miami dropped yet another decision, this time on Friday night to Western Michigan by a score of 8-3. Nassen did not factor in on the Miami goals and was a minus-2 with 2 SOG and 14:32 TOI.

In the rematch, the season finale for Miami, WM came out on top again by a score of 5-2. Nassen had an assist in the loss and was a minus-1.

Dans Locmelis

UMass defeated Maine 5-1 on Friday as the wind down the regular season with back-to-back games against Maine. Locmelis was pointless in the win and was a plus-1 without a shot on goal and was 6 for 15 on the dot with 19:38 TOI.

The rematch on Saturday saw the two teams battle to a 2-2 tie, however, Maine won the shootout. Locmelis scored the game’s opening goal and then assisted on the 2-0 goal before main would tie it up with a pair in the third. Locmelis finished a plus-2 with a game high 6 SOG and 12 for 15 on the dot. One of his best games of the season. UMass will now face Vermont in the opening round of the Hockey East playoffs on Wednesday.

Oskar Jellvik, Andre Gasseau, Dean Letourneau

Boston College closed out the regular season with a 6-0 victory over Merrimack on Saturday. Andre Gasseau had a pair of assists and was a plus-2 with 4 SOG and 4 for 6 on the dot. Dean Letourneau had zeroes across the board and was 1 for 4 on the dot. Oskar Jellvik is still out with an injury.

Jake Schmaltz

North Dakota skated past Omaha 3-1 on Friday. Jake Schmaltz played just 4:34 before leaving with an injury.

Things did not go so well on Saturday as Omaha won 7-3. Schmaltz returned to action but did not register a point. He was a minus-2 with no SOG and was 7 for 10 on the dot with 14:42 TOI. The two teams will face each other again in the NCHC quarterfinals in a best of three next weekend.

Beckett Hendrickson

Minnesota lost the opening game of the Big-10 Quarterfinal 3-2 to Notre Dame on Friday in a shocker. Beckett Hendrickson did not register a point and had 2 SOG with 12:29 TOI in the loss.

Minnesota evened the series on Saturday with a 4-2 win. Hendrickson did not factor in the scoring, was a minus-1 and had 2 SOG with 11:05 TOI.

On Sunday, Notre Dame completed the upset and defeated Minnesota 4-1 to take the best of three series 2-1. Hendrickson was a minus-1 with 3 SOG in the loss.

Ty Gallagher

Colorado College fell 4-1 to Denver in the first of back-to-back with their rivals. Ty Gallagher did not factor in on Colorado’s lone goal. He was a minus-1 with 4 SOG and 21:18 TOI, both team highs on the night.

Same result, different score on Saturday as Denver won 4-3. Down 4-1, CC attempted a comeback but fell short. Gallagher did not register a point and was a minus-1 with 4 SOG.

The two teams will face each other in an NCHC best of three quarter final next weekend.

Chris Pelosi, Elliott Groenewold

Did not play and have earned a bye in the opening round of the playoffs. They will face Brown in a best of three ECAC quarterfinal next weekend.

Ryan Walsh

Cornell defeated Yale 5-1 in the opening round of the ECAC playoffs. Ryan Walsh did not register a point in the win and was a minus-1 while winning 16 of 23 faceoffs. Cornell will now face Colgate in a best of three nest weekend.

Mason Langenbrunner

Harvard defeated RPI 5-2 in the first round of the ECAC playoffs in Allston Mass on Friday. Langenbrunner set up the insurance goal 7:50 into the second period to secure the win. He had 2 SOG and an even plus/minus with 18:30 TOI. They will now face Clarkson in a best of three next weekend.

Jonathan Myrenberg

In what was another must win game, Linkoping defeated Malmo 3-0. However, Jonathan Myrenberg did not play in this game.

On Thursday, Linkoping defeated Timra 2-0. Unfortunately, they are 6 points out of the final playoff spot with 2 games remaining. They can still tie and then would need the tie-breaker (goal differential) to get into the playoffs. Thay are also 4 points up on Modo and trying to stay out of the relegation play for demotion next season. Myrenberg returned to action as the seventh defenceman and had zeroes across the board with 10:07 TOI.

Linkoping got past Rogle 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. Myrenberg had zeroes across the board in just 7:59 TOI. Linkoping is officially eliminated from post season play. Modo can still tie them and the team with the worst goal differential will play in the relegation round for demotion. Both teams have one game remaining.

Loke Johansson

After winning it’s previous 7 games, the Moncton Wildcats dethroned the London Knights as the top ranked team in the CHL. On Wednesday, they continued their winning ways with a 3-2 win over Rimouski. Johansson earned an assist on the GWG. Give him 4 assists in his last 3 games consecutively.

On Friday Moncton got past Sherbrooke 4-1. Johansson did not factor in on the scoring. He finished a plus-1 with 1 SOG and 2 hits in 20:19 TOI.

Moncton just keeps on rolling following a 5-2 win over Blainville-Boisbriand on Saturday. Loke Johansson scored an empty net goal, was a plus-2 with 3 SOG in 18:11 TOI.

Kristian Kostadinski, Jonathan Morello, Cole Spicer

Dubuque defeated Muskegon 4-3 in overtime on Friday. Kristian Kostadinski scored the game’s opening goal just 1:10 into the contest. He finished a plus-1 with 3 SOG. Jonathan Morello set up a beauty goal in overtime for the victory. Morello finished a minus-1 with 2 SOG. Cole Spicer did not register a point and was a plus-1 with 1 SOG.

On Saturday, Dubuque fell 4-3 in overtime to Muskegon. Kostadinski had zeroes across the board. Morello had an assist (on another beautiful setup) and was a plus-1 with no SOG. Spicer had a goal on 2 SOG.

On Sunday, , Dubuque defeated Chicago 3-2. Kostadinski scored on a wicked wrister from the left side half-wall that gave Dubuque a 2-1 lead. It was his only SOG. Morello did not play while Spicer had zeroes across the board.

William Zellers

The new kid on the block, acquired from the Colorado Avalanche in the Charlie Coyle trade on Friday, faced the USNTDP on Friday along with his Green Bay Gamblers teammates and lost 3-1. Zellers did not register a point in the loss and was a minus-1 with 1 SOG.

On Saturday, the USNTDP came out on top with a 6-3 victory. Zellers had a goal and an assist in the loss for Green Bay.

Philip Svedeback

Providence College lost to Boston University on Thursday by a score of 8-1. Svedeback was under the weather and did not play.

The illness kept Svedeback out of Saturday’s game as well but PC was able to beat Northeastern 3-2.

PC will face Connecticut in the Hockey East quarterfinal Friday.

Providence Bruins

Oliver Wahlstrom’s 3 goals helped propel Providence to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Marlies on Friday. Tyler Pitlick had a goal and an assist while Riley Duran also scored. Fabian Lysell had a pair of helpers while Michael DiPietro stopped 25 of 27 shots.

On Saturday, they could not get the job done against Springfield, 2-1 despite outshooting the Thunderbirds 40-20. Joey Abate scored for Providence on a set up from Tristan Ashbrook and Billy Sweezey. Brandon Bussi stopped 18 shots in the loss.
