North Dakota fell to 17-13-2 and ranked 19th in the latest Pairwise Rankings after falling to Western Michigan by a score of 5-4. ND won the rematch on Saturday 4-3 in overtime. Schmaltz had an assist in the winning cause and was 13 for 19 on the dot centering the second line. In fact, it was a clean faceoff win in the O-zone by Schmaltz that got North Dakota on the scoreboard.

Beckett Hendrickson

Beckett Hendrickson and his fourth line linemates created the games opening goal on their first shit with hard work and determination. But it didn’t carry throughout the game as Minnesota fell 4-3 in overtime to Penn State Friday. Hendrickson would finish with an assist and a team high 4 SOG in just 9:11 TOI.

Jonathan Myrenberg

It was as close to a must win games as it comes for Linkoping on Tuesday however, they fell short by a score of 3-2, in overtime. They did gain a point and that moved them 3 points ahead of Modo and out of the relegation round. They did though drop 7 points behind Malmo for the final playoff spot in the SHL with 6 games remaining. And since they use a 3-2-1-point system, anything is possible. They go head-to-head Tuesday. Myrenberg did not factor in the scoring with 16:15 TOI.

On Thursday, it went to overtime again, this time to Farjestad and Linkoping came out on top 2-1. Myrenberg did not register a point and had 1 blocked shot with just 11:21 TOI.

On Saturday it was a tough 5-2 loss to Skelleftea that stung. With just 4 games remaining, Linkoping dropped to 6 points out of a playoff race. Still mathematically possible, but now they hole a slim 1-point lead over Modo for 12th spot. If they drop to 13th, they will be playing in the relegation round for demotion next season. Myrenberg did not factor in the scoring and played just 11:24.

Loke Johansson

It was the best in the east versus the best in the west as Moncton faced Drummondville Friday and came away with a 4-1 win. It was Moncton’s sixth straight win, outscoring their opponents 31-8 in those 6 games. Loke Johansson set up the game’s opening goal and Moncton never looked back. It required overtime where Moncton would complete the comeback. Johansson finished a plus-2 with 2 hits to go along with his two helpers on Saturday.

Kristian Kostadinski, Jonathan Morello, Cole Spicer

It was perhaps the best all-around game of the season for Jonathan Morello as he led Dubuque to an 8-3 win over Chicago on Friday with a goal and 3 assists and being named the game’s first start. Not only was he great offensively, but he had a great game on the other side of the puck. He finished a plus-4. Kostadinski was a plus-2 on the night. Cole Spicer did not dress for this game.

Jonathan Morello had an assist and also with 3 SOG and was a plus 1.

Philip Svedeback

It wasn’t perfect but Philip Svedeback stopped 29 of 31 shots to pace Providence College to a 3-3 win over Merrimack. Down 2-0 at the 7-minute mark of the second with at least one of the goals Svedeback wishes he could have back, he shut the door the rest of the way to earn his 16th victory of the season.

It took a come from behind effort to pull out a victory on Sunday as Providence defeated Hartford 5-2 on Teddy Bear Toss Day. Max Jones sent the teddy bears flying when he snapped a shot inside the post from the slot to put the Bruins up 1-0.
