With AHL camps set to open on Monday, the Bruins are expected to begin trimming their roster on Sunday. The first wave of cuts may not be formally announced until Monday morning, but the organization is gearing up for its initial round of decisions as camp transitions into its next phase.
Under the new CBA, training camp comes with a notable wrinkle: any player with 100 or more NHL games is limited to just two preseason appearances. For goaltenders, the threshold applies to games dressed — once they’ve hit 100, they too are capped at two outings.
One other change of note: the long‑standing requirement to dress eight NHL players in preseason games has been removed entirely.
