I’m not talking about the on-ice product. More specifically, they are in a good position to do something about the on-ice product. Compared to the other 15 (current) playoff teams, there are only two teams in a far superior situation to the Bruins. But as deadline day approaches, it gets more complicated than just theContinue reading “Bruins Are in Good Position at All-Star Break”

BOSTON BRUINS MONDAY MORNING PROSPECT UPDATE WEEK ENDING JANUARY 16, 2022
Last week I touched on one of the lesser talked about prospects in Quinn Olsen so I thought I’d give a quick update. He leads Minnesota-Duluth in assists, points, shots and penalty minutes. Of the top-10 scoring forwards on his team, he has the worst shooting percentage at just 6.1% and probably explains why heContinue reading “BOSTON BRUINS MONDAY MORNING PROSPECT UPDATE WEEK ENDING JANUARY 16, 2022”
They Have to Stay in the Lineup Don’t You Think?
I’m talking about Anton Blidh, Oskar Steen and Urho Vaakanainen. Although it’s been limited timing for Steen and Vaakanainen, one could argue that none of the trio has done anything to warrant being taken out of the lineup. And the team is winning which makes changing anything a very difficult decision. Vaakanainen didn’t have hisContinue reading “They Have to Stay in the Lineup Don’t You Think?”

DECISION LOOMS FOR BRUINS GM DON SWEENEY
Depth. It’s something every National Hockey League General Manager requires because you never know when injuries will occur. And with COVID-19, that requirement is compounded. It’s no different for Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney. And he will soon need to make a decision on defenceman John Moore. The Bruins have already lost defenceman Jakob ZborilContinue reading “DECISION LOOMS FOR BRUINS GM DON SWEENEY”
IF THE ARIZONA COYOTES ARE GOING TO MOVE JAKOB CHYCHRUN, DO THE BRUINS HAVE THE WEAPONS?
Hard to imagine that Arizona Coyotes General Manage Bill Armstrong would move a bona fide top pairing defenceman such as Jakob Chychrun. If you’re a Boston Bruins fan, dreaming a top-4 in a couple of years of Chychrun, Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and Mason Lohrei has got to have you salivating more than any presentContinue reading “IF THE ARIZONA COYOTES ARE GOING TO MOVE JAKOB CHYCHRUN, DO THE BRUINS HAVE THE WEAPONS?”

WEDNESDAYS MAILBAG DECEMBER 8
Colin Stead via Twitter asks Question – Do you think signing Ullmark to a hefty contract was a good idea if they bring Tuukka back for the stretch run? Answer – Yes, I do. I know that almost everyone reading here is sitting at home on their sofa reading and thinking the exact opposite. ButContinue reading “WEDNESDAYS MAILBAG DECEMBER 8”
WEDNESDAY MAILBAG DECEMBER 1, 2021
It’s a small mailbag this week because there were multiple questions about the Brad Marchand suspension and even more regarding the Jake DeBrusk trade request. I’ll start with the Marchand suspension. I really have nothing to add. Was it suspension worthy? Yes, in my opinion it was. Were three games too many? I don’t know.Continue reading “WEDNESDAY MAILBAG DECEMBER 1, 2021”
